RACE PhD Oversight Group
The RACE PhD Oversight Group (POG) arranges and oversees the implementation of a common strategy, plans and policies for the RACE PhD students across four host institutions, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Oxford.
POG monitors the effectiveness of the programme offered to students via RACE and determines priorities, in consultation with relevant senior managers. Reporting to the RACE Management Committee, POG makes recommendations to other relevant bodies and committees as necessary.
POG aims to ensure that:
- every student can enjoy and derive value from their experience via RACE.
- RACE’s provision for the student experience reflects the diversity of needs within the student population.
- key measures of the student experience and the development and implementation of plans to enhance student satisfaction are determined.
- the activities and plans of RACE and the host institutions support the student experience.
- key trends in the external environment and their implications for the student experience within RACE are considered.
- the Student Patient Alliance works optimally for all participants.
